For peace day at school, the primary school kids drew an outline of their hand on paper, cut it out, and wrote their wish or message of peace on it, then stuck it onto a thin wooden stick.
Then the middle and senior school girls collected them and planted them underneath the jacaranda tree. The girl in the foreground is my best friend and the woman next to her was my Art teacher. ... We had many, uh, stimulating intellectual debates about artists practice. And by stimulating debates, I mean heated arguments. There was a lot of sarcasm and fond memories involved :Db.
